I plan to mke the following config :
P4 P800 E Deluxe card
P4 3Go E intel processor
Hard disk Hitachi 160Go 7K250
Question : does Xp Pro able to config 160Go ?
I heard several stories saying that it does not go over 120Go.
You would be better off posting this in one of the
microsoft.public.windows.* groups, but here's my take:
I have a machine with a UDMA133 IDE controller with a 250 GB drive running
Windows Server 2003.
There is some kind of hardware limitation about a "137 GB barrier" in IDE
controllers. To be able to use a hard drive bigger than 137 GB, you must
make sure that your IDE controller is a UDMA 133 type. UDMA 100 IDE
controllers will have trouble. Also, check these Microsoft Knoledgebase
articles. I think your Windows will have to be XP Pro SP1 to install it. I
personally don't know about the XP SP1, because my machine with the big
drive doesn't use XP.

That second link is actually about Windows 2000, but has lots of relevant
notes in it.
