Configuring user profile

How can you setup Outlook client to find the exchange server automatically?
The client on the desktop has no information about the server. I would like
to have Outlook automatically configure the exchange server and network
personal folders for each user that logs on to the system. I am not able to
change the orginal Outlook installation.

Use the Custom Maintenance Wizard or a standalone .prf file. Details in the
OFfice Resource Kit online.

That seems to work. Now how do I get the profile to load on each machine for
each new user?

Also, is there a way to configure the default location for Archive files,
like you can do for the normal personal folders? We would like the users to
save them to the network instead of their local drive.

The ORK describes several methods for deploying a .prf file. If you used the
CIW to deploy Outlook or Office, a Custom Maintenance Wizard .cmw file
probably would be the easiest method.

I think I got it. One last question, I promise. What kind of encryption
should I give the PST folders. Can I not configure this? Could I just
remove the EncryptionType=0x80000000 from the PRF? What is the default?

I'd recommend the default, which is Compressible Encryption. Haven't checked
how that comes out in the PRF, but it should be easy enough to do with
CIW/CMW.
