Connect Portfolio 2007 to Project Server 2007

H

Hichenzo

Hi,

I manged to install and run project server 2007 and project portfolio 2007.

On the settings menu of PPS 2007, I declared the following configuration on
the Project Server Gateway Menu :

* Authentication type Windows integrated authentication
* Name MYPS2007
* Description MY Project Server
* Project Server Web Service URL
http://myserver:56737/SharedServices1/PSI/Project.asmx?WSDL/
* Project Web Access (PWA) URL http://myserver/pwa/

When I go to MASS IMPORT, I have this error :

Authentication data undefined for specified Project Server and current user.

Knowing that I'm using a domain account and this account is admin of PS 2007
& PPS 2007.

Can somone help me, to correctly setup PPS 2007 to work with PS 2007, there
is no documentation from Microsoft at all.

Regards

I'm having a similar issue connecting PPS 2007 to PS 2007
I have two separate VM's on one domain using integrated authentication for
both Project Server 2007 and Project Portfolio Server 2007.

Going from what I have read in the Project 2007 SDK and earlier in this post
I have
http://ps2007demo:610/vti_bin/PSI/project.asmx for the Project Server Web
Service URL. I still cannot connect though.

Hi,

Seems I was wrong in my former posting about the path to the "Project Server
Web Service URL". It should have been something like
"http://[ProjectServerApplicationServer]:56737/SharedServices1", according
to Microsofts deployment guide that has just been released.

Sorry about that :)

I haven't had the time to test the guide yet, but I will post my experiences
here. If someone has time to look at it before, please post your experiences
as well, so that we can get this thingy up and running.

:

The correct path for "Project Server Web Service URL" is
http://ServerName/ProjectServerName/_vti_bin/psi.

I've exactly the same problem

Tried it from the top again yesterday/today, Clean install if SQL/Project
Server 07 etc.

As I am working in a VM machine which is not on a Domain I went down the SQL
authentication route to install PPS as per the PPS Deployment guide. I
created SQL account as per guide, but ended up using sa account in install
wizard. Wizard did not like the SQL account even though I followed the
deployment guide to the letter to create :((

Once created user accounts/groups etc in PPS (anybody else bored with
selecting 'Allow' a million times when creating the Administator security
Group???) and setup the Gateway I still get:
'Authentication data undefined for specified Project Server and current
user.' and then later 'The
request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized.' when trying to do the
'Attribute Mapping Template Management' stage (p56 of deployment guide).

Getting fed up with this now so may log a support call with MS tomorrow am
(GMT). I will post findings if I get anywhere.

Have you got anywhere Christoffer??

Cheers

As I'm also facing the same problem and getting the same error message
also. I think we should consider the scenarios which described in the
Installation Guide (Configuration Requirements) - Page 53. And need
to modify the settings in Project Server by using Central
Administration.

my configuration comes under SCENARIO 4 - But I could not select "This
farm will provide services to other farms" (Its showing as disabled -
may be I need to install the project server again as Server Farm
mode.)

Regarding the 'Allow' option selection is quiet boring. (Let's hope MS
will put some buttons to categorywise selection ))

Please keep posting your solution / fixes, That will be a great help
for us.

TIA

Logged a call with MS on Monday 19th about this. Still have had no response
as 'the Project Server Team are a bit busy at the moment'. I was told they
have five days of issues to get though, despite mine being classed as urgent!
We live in hope...

Hi Tobias

I'm pleased you have been able to get this to work. Are you able to
import/export OK?

It would be really useful if you could let me know what your setup is like.
Is PPS on the same server as Project Server? Are you on a domain or workgroup
etc.

Thanks in advance

Hi Guys,

What I did find out is that the URL to the Project Server Webservice
URL needs to be something like this:

http://winvisio-kicnpd:56737/SharedServices/PSI/

When you open a browser and add project.asmx you'll get to see the
Webservices methods. Initially I thought that would have tackled the
Unauthorized error but another error now pops up when I try to open
Attribute Mapping Template Management:

Authentication data undefined for specified Project Server and current
user.

I'm currently logged in with a Portfolio user that is an
administrator. I expect Portfolio Server to use Windows Integrated
Authentication when reaching the Project Server, based on the account
I provided in the AppPool for Portfolio Server. This user (local
admninistrator on this machine) also has rights in the SharedServices
provider. I'm beginning to loose it with Portfolio server, I now
almost spend a week trying to get the gateway running!

Hope somebody can help me out.

Hi:
I had EXACTLY the same problem for two weeks ago. The difference is the URL
of the service, I've something like http://servername:56737/SharedService1/
and have the same problems. I think that in Europe the PPS support has not
enough people. I was waiting for 2 weeks with other problem with my database
server (which was in spanish language) and PPS 2007.
Best regards
