Connect to a mysql database

Hello,

I have a mySQL DB on my local computer (localhost) and it holds information
on many thousands of different products prices etc...

I also have a number of word files that I have to manually update with the
prices etc... every so often.

Therefore, this can lead to discrepancies. Is there a way to connect a mySQL
DB to Word 2003 using a macro and put data into certain places within the
document. I've never done anything like this with an office document so any
help would be great.

Thanks

David

Read Help on how to use MailMerge to create a catalog.

If that doesn't serve, then yes, you can create a macro that opens a
database, extracts information, and inserts it into the document.

Do you know the cose for connecting to the DB from a macro, and if so, how I
can place a certain bit of info into a diff field each time the Loop
reiterates?

Thanks for that

Yes I do; I learnt it by reading the documentation and following the
examples provided.

If this is as far as you've got writing your specification, it would be
better if you didn't attempt the project at all.

Thank you Mr Jocky.

I must say that I haven't found many examples on the Internet, or in my
books, that's why I'm in forums asking for help.

Thanks for your constructive criticism *hmmmm*

Mysql.org distributes a myodbc driver that allows you to create odbc data
sources for mysql sources.
