Connecting to Server...forever

Occassionally when I open Outlook 2K and attempt to
download new mail the program hangs on Connecting to
Server. I ran repair. I rebooted. In the past this did the
trick but today no luck. I should add that I am a heavy
user with many files. I archive bigger files monthly and
deleate the deleate folder weekly.

Ideas?
