Connecting to server with Vista 64-bit

I recently purchased a new computer running on Vista 64-bit. I was able to
install Frontpage 2003, without any problem. But when I try to get onto the
server to make changes to the permissions (Tools/Server/Administation Home),
I get an error message "Worldwide web browser, such as Microsoft Internet
Explorer, is required to use this feature". I have Internet Explorer in the
computer and it is set as the default browser. Has any one else run into this
problem?

I have a brand new Vista 64-bit machine and have not had any problems with
FrontPage or otherwise. However, I have not had to reset anything on the
server.

I have found the cure. I was using Firefox as my default browser. When I
discovered this problem I went to "Set Your Default Programs" and changed it
to Internet Explorer, it still wouldn't bring up the server and I still got
the Browser needed error message. I played around with the "Set Computer
Programs and Computer Defaults" using "Custom" and selected Internet Explorer
there. I went back to FrontPage and tried it again, and it connected to the
server. So then I went back and selected Firefox as my default browser, and
it still works, plus Firefox is now my default browser again. Firefox is my
default browser and when I want to connect to the server, through FrontPage,
it comes up in Internet Explorer.

What does "I played around with the 'Set Computer
Programs and Computer Defaults' using 'Custom'..." mean? Can you let us know
the steps you used to get there?

The closest I have come to a solution is going directly to the dll file:
http://{SERVER}/_vti_bin/_vti_adm/fpadmdll.dll . I'd rather it just worked
from FrontPage, though... =)

I kept getting the error message that a browser like IE was needed to get to
the server. I had IE & Foxfire both installed. I went to: Start/Default
Programs/Set Computer Access and Defaults/ Selected Custom and the window
dropped down/ Then under "Choose My Browser", selected IE, then hit OK. After
that I was able to go to the server, by selecting Server from the Frontpage
menu.
