Connection Error on opening the report

Hi
I am using link tables from SQL Server for showing data on report.
After opening the application I go to one form and Refreshing the link of
tables as per input connection.

After this if SQL Service stops then report doesn't get open. and after long
time i get SQL server connection with Error Dialog box.

So I would like to check connection before opening the report & there is
problem then i want to show error message to user.

And I don't want the SQL Connection error to be displayed to user.

Desperately need help....
