Connection Errors

I have a client. "All of a sudden" after a year of problem free computing
they are receiving balloon messages :

Outlook is trying to retrieve data from MSE connection

Connection to MSE server has been lost. Outlook will restore connection when
possible.

Connection has been restored

Any ideas clues leads?

Clients are Windows XP/Outlook XP
