Connection Hangs When Starting Project Pro

I have XP and am also connected to a VPN client. When I run Project
Pro the logon prompt comes up and I type in domain\user and then my
password. Once I hit enter everything just hangs. I then click cancel
and enter my user and password again and it connects right away. Does
anyone know what is happening? Is the problem at my desktop or at the
server? Thanks in advance

Which version of Project Server are you using? What service pack level?

There was something similar sounding fixed in SP1 for Project Server,
however I'd need to know exact details to determine what's going on such as
the configuration of your VPN and the nature of the logons you're seeing.
The only ones that are looking for Windows credentials should be coming from
the server or active directory environment. Have you tried using the manage
passwords feature in XP?

Apparently I had already installed sp1 because when I tried installing
it now a message popped up stating it is already updated. The
configuration of the vpn I have no clue about because that is managed
by another team in our company. The logging in works just fine, the
only problem is that we have to log in twice instead of just once.
When we log in the first time nothing happens, I then click the cancel
button and it give me the option to choose which address I want to
connect too and I choose the same address then hit connect and log in
again and boom I'm in. I haven't tried the manage passwords feature
yet, I'm not sure if that would solve the problem because like I
mentioned we can log in it just takes two times to do it.

I found my problem, it was McAfee virus protection. I uninstalled it
and it works just fine now, it logs in the first time. Does anyone
know if McAfee has a setting or a fix for this? By the way thanks for
all of your help.
