Connection issues

We have been continually connecting to Project Server from Project Pro
and PWA with Windows authenticated IDs with no issues (in Windows
2000). However, users on Windows XP are receiving the following error
when using Windows authenticated IDs to connect from Project Pro:

The server at 'http://intranet.ourdomain.com:9999/ProjectServer/'
returned
the following error to Project.
You are not authorized to view this page
You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the
credentials that you supplied because your Web browser is sending a
WWW-Authenticate header field that the Web server is not configured to
accept.
Please try the following:
Contact the Web site administrator if you believe you should be able to
view
this directory or page.
Click the Refresh button to try again with different credentials.
HTTP Error 401.2 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to server
configuration.
Internet Information Services (IIS)

We modified the IIS settings to enable the Anonymous Access setting and
we were able to access succesffuly on Windows XP. However, on Windows
2000 machines, the following error displays:

Project cannot log you on automatically using your Windows user
account. You need to change the account in your profile or contact your
Project Server administrator to check if your Windows user account
exists and is a valid account on the Project Server. (5003)

Does anyone have a recommended solution so that Windows 2000 and XP
machines can both successfully connect to Project Server from Project
Pro?
