i use outlook 2003.my family use the same pc no problems with 3 desktops
however when i try to connect on the fourth i get connection to microsoft
exchange server unavailiable, must be online or connected to complete this
action.(this is on set up page)it the asks for microsoft exchange server and
mailbox info?,it then goes to unable to open default email folders, outlook is
not an offline file.
i guess it must be a setting on that one desktop because ive had no problems
with the rest but ive tried everything i can think of and cannot resolve this
problem.
i have tiscali addresses and use outlook to read them
any help really would be appreciated thanks

So you are not using an Exchange server? Best is to start with a clean
profile then and make sure you select the correct account type while
configuring it.
For detailed steps see http://www.howto-outlook.com/faq/newprofile.htm

Well if you are not using an Exchange server then there is no info to put in
there; you've selected the wrong account type when setting up Outlook. What
accounts do you have configured with your current mail profile? Are more
than one profiles currently listed?

im sorry but i am getting more confused.i and my 2 daughters all have a
seperate desktops, we all have seperate tiscali email addresses which we read
thru outlook.setting all this up was no problem,my wife now has her own
tiscali email address but when i try to open outlook on her desktop i get
messages as previously described ie unable to connect to microsoft exchange
server,so i am guessing there must be something set wrong on the wifes
desktop setting but i do not know what.all of these addresses are from one
tiscali account.if i could find out what my microsoft exchange server is and
what is meant by mailbox i think this would connect me but i have no idea
where to look for this info.outlook has never been set up on my wifes desktop
as i keep hitting this problem.hope you can help.
thanks again for your time and patience in this matter i really do
appreciate it.

An Exchange server is usually an internal corporate mail server. I highly
doubt that tiscali is offering Exchange mailboxes to you. See the
documentation they provided to you or contact them to what mail account type
you need to configure and what the server and login details are. Most likely
it is a POP3 account.
See the link I provided earlier to begin with a new mail profile.
