Consecutive page numbering

I have a 766 page manual with 23 sections.
All sections were created by Word during formating. Is
their any way, short of going to the first page of every
section, of numbering the entire document consecutively?
I have read a couple of articles on this site devoted to
nummbering, but have been unable to find any workaround
except to go to every section.

If I must do it that way, is there an easy way to find the
begining of each section?

Suzanne,

Renumbering was really bizarre. Word refused (or didn't
like how I was doing it) to number my pages
using "continue from previous section". I had to
say "start at" and then supply the last page number that
populated. I worked for now, but I wonder what will
happen when I add pages in the future???
