Consistent Slide Transition

Carole@UVA

I have a ppt presentation with about 10 or so slides, 6 of which I want to
have the same transition style. I've used the exact same custom animation
(within those 6 slides) and exact same slide transition options for those
same slides, but not getting the same, consistent results.

Those 6 slides will have the same header/title frame, with different
bulleted content below, which I want to fade out/fade in the next slide
content with ONE click to prompt both effects. Works on one slide
transition, but not the others, again, with same options set up. ~ : [

Hi Carole

What version of PowerPoint are you using? Also could you talk us through
excatly what custom animation and transition effects you have and how they
are set up? Think of us as small children who need things explained very
slowly & clearly ;-)

As Lucy said you will need to treat us like small children! We cannot see
what you are trying to achieve. If you wish I will be happy to look at your
presentation.

Before that though when you say the slides are identical except for content
text, did you try creating a duplicate slide and changing the text? This
should give you slides which definitely have the same animation etc.

The content is a little sensitive, so hesitant to send off, but appreciate
your offer. There are 12 slides, most which are either introductory or
conclusionistic (! :), with 5 in the middle (#'s 6-10) that are the meat of
the presentation.

In those 5 (slides 6 - 10), the first one comes up with only the heading
(that applies to and stays consistent for all those consecutive 5 slides).
Then I click, and the placeholder/text box with text appears. Then I click
again, and that placeholder/text box fades out, and what I want is for the
placeholder/textbox with text from slide #7 to fade in - with that one click
- fade out of covered info, fade in of new info from next slide.

That desired effect is only happening between slides #7 and #8; for the
others, there's an extra click i have to make (to have the new info from the
next slide appear), with a slightly longer duration in the transition because
of having to do that extra click.

Those slides all have the same custom animation settings (Fade, With
Previous, Medium) and the same slide transition settings (Fade Smoothly,
Fast, On Click). But as stated, desired effect only happening between #7 and
#8. Hmmmm.

thanks again!

I tested your method and it worked perfectly

Just so I have this clearly!

The only animation on each slide is a with previous fade? The Titles are not
animated?

Did you expand the animation with the little double arrow under the
animation entry and check there were no hidden on clicks?

Can you not duplicate the working slides and change the content?

If you want to send me a sample of the non working slides you can just
change all the text to X's
