Consolidated Network Install Point

In addition to having the "Pro Plus" suite (under Software Assurance), I
have a number of Project STD, Visio STD and SharePoint Designer seats.
Is there any way to create a "consolidated" installation so that
replicated files/folders are not needed?

Hi Jim,

Yes, you can extract the Office 2007 client products from the CD image to a single Office 2007 Network Installation point and then
run Setup from there. Unless you specify a particular product as a command line option for MS Office Setup.exe you should be
prompted as to which product you'd like to install.

Take a look at the Office 2007 Resource Kit,
particularly the section on 'precaching' (installing) the
Local Installation Source (\MSOCache) folder on each work station
http://microsoft.com/office/ork

If you are using the Office 2007 Customization Tool you can setup the apps to 'chain' from one to the other if you choose, or you
can script/batch file run them back to back, which gives you a bit more control on what to do if one fails in the chain.
