Context driven Icons?

J

Windows XP and Office 2007 (maybe).

I was fairly adept at Office 2003. 2007 is a mystery to me. How can I
force the "context driven icons" to produce the tabs I need?

There has to be a way to get Layout and other tabs visible when I want them
and not when the software thinks I want them. How?

Hi Jay,

The contextual parts of the Ribbon are pretty much the equivalent of some of the older version 'right click' context menus. When
you've selected text, or a graphic, etc that can use particular features the ribbon tabs are there, when you're not in a selection
they're usually gone, but some can be brought up using the same shortcut keys as in earlier versions.

What features, for example, and in Which Office 2007 app are you looking to 'pop up'?
