Contextual Spell check not working

I can't figure out why this feature isn't working on my PC. I have
selected the Office button, Word Options, Proofing & Use contextual
spelling is checked. From Help I've typed some of the sample sentences
in a document that contextual spelling is supposed to catch (" I
bought a pear of shoes", I love you to"), but they are not flagged.
Misspellings and grammatical errors are flagged (" I is tired", "I
want moore"). Don't know what's wrong. Any ideas? Thanks,
