Continually asked to sign EULA; could not load object errors

I have just uninstalled Office 2003 Professional from a PC running XP and
installed it on a new PC running Vista. Everything went reasonably smoothly,
including re-keying the umpteen character product code.

Every time I open word I get two errors saying "Microsoft Forms: Could not
load an object because it is not available on this machine."

When the second of these messages clears, I am asked each time to agree to
the end user licence agreement.

There is no problem using the application, but I am slightly worried that
somewhere or other the licence is not properly set up and that this might
prevent me getting upgrades or whatever.

Any comments?

This could be caused by an add-in, or by normal.dot. I'd try renaming
normal.dot first, and see if that helps (if you need assistance locating the
file, see http://word.mvps.org/faqs/apperrors/blankdocnotblank.htm.)

If you login as an administrator, and then accept the license agreement,
does that fix things?

Thanks for your help and advice. I think I know know what is causing the 'object not available error'. It is an add in which is not properly added in. Unfortunately, although it appears in the add ins and templates list, the option to remove it is not available, so I suppose I am going to have to try to install it properly before I can remove it.

On the EULA, I only have one account on my PC which is the administrator's
account. Usually if something needs an administrator's OK to proceed, Vista
prompts me to do this, but I am a little new to Vista so perhaps I am missing
something.

Hi Alan,

The License acceptance needs to be written to the registry.
What may work in Vista is to right click the Word shortcut and use the 'Run as Administrator' choice if available to be able to get
the EULA acceptance to stick.

Thank you both for your help. Unfortunately, I didn't have the option either to right click and run word as an administrator or to uninstall the add in that is incompatible with Vista but deleting the add-in's .dot file and running word from a command prompt window, itself opened as administrator solved both problems.

As I say your advice has helped me fix the issues, but I don't think that
Vista has made it very easy.
