Continually receive "Please wait while Microsoft Windows configure

I just installed Office Enterprise 2007 on a brand new laptop. It has not had
any version of Office on it before. Installation went fine -- No errors.
However now every time I open any of the Office applications I get the Please
wait while Windows configures Microsoft Office 2007 message. If I go to the
actual .exe files and run one of them it comes up without the message.
However if I go to the start menu or if I open a file in the application I
get the message every time.

I have uninstalled, run CCCleaner and re-installed. That didn't work

I was going to run Windows Install Clean Up but the text file said "** NOTE:
The Windows Installer Clean Up Utility should not be used to remove the 2007
Microsoft Office System installation information. ***" so I didn't try to
run it.

Any advice as to how to get rid of this message?

Support for Enterprise is from MS direct (free) or from the organisation
that supplied it

I've seen this before on the Quick Launch toolbar - I deleted the shortcut to
the program it was doing that with and then I didn't see that message. Try
deleting all office shortcuts and recreating them from the program
files\microsoft office\officexx folder.

Thanks for the replies. After reading Melissa's I went to delete the
shortcut on one of the applications to see what would happen. For some
reason I clicked on it first. I couldn't believe it. The application came up
without the message. After three days of fighting with this thing it went
away on its own.

Again thank you both. I was about to delete the links and/or start going
through my employer for help but (at least for the moment) PROBLEM SOLVED.
