"Continuous section break" is changed to "Next page section break"

Hi:

I have a document like below:

Section1----------Section Break(Continuous)-----
Section2 ----------Section Break(Continuous)-----

when I select all text and new a document, then paste it. The last section
break type is changed to "Section Break(Next page)" auto, like:

Section1----------Section Break(Continuous)-----
Section2 ----------Section Break(Next Page)-----

could you help me to look it? Thanks.

A section break stores the properties of the previous section but
displays the "Section start" type for the following section. When
copying and pasting you are transferring the properties for all sections
except the last one. The section after the break will adjust to the
settings of the section where you are pasting. For details, see:

Note that you can change the section start for an existing section,
after you've pasted it; in Word 97-2003, you can do this on the Layout
tab of File | Setup dialog box.

Hi Stefan,

strange, I can't ascertain this behaviour.

Crtl a, next doc, ctrl a, ctrl v

and the section breaks (all are continuous)
remain what they were.

The situation might be different if the new blank doc
has a pagesetup section start "new page"
and not all of the first doc is copied or not
all of the target doc is overwritten.

Here and now.

Hi Helmut

If you are pasting the whole document, the behavior will be different,
yes. I noticed that and drew the conclusion that the OP pasted only part
of the document.

When I tested it, I also did *not* over-write anything in the target
document; I just pasted at the (blinking) insertion point. As you wrote,
this is probably important too.

Hi Stefan and Helmut:
Thank you very much. I resolve my problem by your suggestions. Before I
paste the text, I set the File | Page setup|Lay out, select the section start
is "continuous",then paste the text. All the break type is same to the old.:)

Thanks again and I owe you beers.
