I have very intensive databases which utilize HUGE amounts of data.
I am using SATA-II drives which should be able to keep up with the processor.

Does MS Access limit itself to 50% CPU usage, as it seems to in my case, or
is there a way I can increase the percent usage ?

If you have a dual core processor, Access will only use one core. Therefore
the most you will see is 50% usage.

I spoke with a friend who experiences this as well - he says he has a Single
Core Processor at home, still max’s at 50%.

He says he has another PC at home with HyperThreading turned on, 50%, also
using the same PC, with HyperThreading turned off, still 50%. He says he
uses a Dual Core at work, still 50%.
