Controlled data input into a data table

I am looking for advise on how I can input data into a tbale under a
controlled environment - that users can inut via unbound controls on a form
with the option of saving the data based on click of a command button and
certain validation checks ?

If any one has done this for their own project your help would be greatly
apprciated.
