Conversion From Trial to Full Use, Using Key From Previous Purchas

Last year, I purchased an inexpensive laptop to get the job done. At the
time, I purchased the Microsoft Office 2007 - Student and Home Edition key
code.

Yesterday, I purchased a new laptop with more bells and whistles.

I downloaded a trial version of Microsoft Office - Student and Home Edition,
entered the trial code and attempted to convert it, using the key code that I
purchased one year ago.

The new laptop / trial conversion accepts the unlock key code and provides
me with a green check mark.

However, when I use Microsoft Office - it remains in Trial mode, indicating
that it will expire in January 2009. Furthermore, the program will show,
i.e., Microsoft Word (Trial).

What am I doing wrong and why will the computer / program accept the
conversion code that I purchased last year, but will not convert to the full
version of Office?

DL,
I don't think that TravelinTek will find your answer helpful in any way.
Did this person say that it was for commecial use? I didn't get that from
the post. Maybe they are simply a student trying to get homework done and
the student and home edition got "the job done". If you don't have the time
to offer a helpful suggestion then don't bother posting at all.

Not sure if you got an actual answer from another discussion group, but...
I would suggest uninstalling the trial version and giving it a second go
around. I have had similair issues in the past and if I start from scratch
and give it a second go around it seems to help. I have obviously used Small
Business and Professional Edtions as it is for company use, but still based
on the same backbone architecture. Also, be sure that you have downloaded
the correct version that matches your purchased license. If your old
computer still have the key installed you would want to remove the license
and have it correctly transferred to your new laptop.
