Convert back to Office 2000 from Office 2007

So I was trying to make an invitation and the only program that I could find
was Publisher on my computer and it wanted some product key that I didn't
have. So I downloaded what I thought was going to include Publisher from the
website and got Office 2007 for Home and Students. Now all my files are
opening in Office 2007 and my old Outlook won't find the email servers and
such.

How do I get all my files back to opening in Office 2000 and get rid of the
Office 2007 trial? Actually I know how to get rid of Office 2007, I'm just
afraid that if I remove it all my files will go with it and that would be
very bad.

Thanks in advance
Liz

Uninstalling Office will not take your Word and Excel, etc. documents
with it. They will remain on your computer. You will not be able to
open them until you reinstall the older version of Office, but they'll
still be there.

Thanks that is reassuring. Now I can not find the Office 2000 disc in the
office so is it available online as well? Haven't looked for it yet. Also
because I already have Office 2000 on my computer will it be override it with
the new installation?

No Office versions other than 2007 trial is available on line, you need the
cd to repair your installation

Awesome that means a search and rescue mission is going to have to happen.
When I reinstall Office 2000 will that also fix the problems I'm having with
Outlook? It tells me there is no location but when I open the mail icon it
has all the info correct.
