Convert excel cell into text

Hello all,

Posted in the development forum also because this might be VBA specific.
Anyhow, when I cut and paste a cell from Excel to Notepad, it's adding
quotation marks around the text. This only occurs on cells which the text
was derived via a VBA function call.

Any help would be appreciated.
