convert mdi to pdf without loosing OCR information

Hi!

I like to convert a scanned book from mdi to pdf. I already received (to
my mind well) OCR information with the MDI Viewer. Unfortunately Adobe
PDF doesn't like my text and can't find OCR information.
My goal is to get a document where I can search for text an where i can
add bookmarks and links.
Actually I can search for text (MDI) or add bookmarks (Acrobat). Can
anyone help me and say
a) how can I add bookmarks and hyperlinks ind MDI Files or
b) hoc can I convert Images and OCR information from MDI to PDF format or
c) how can I make Adobe Acrobat 7 find OCR in my text (adobe says after
5 Minutes work: cant find OCR information

Thaks for your help

the OCR'ed text is not good enough. The text is only good enough for to
search for a keyword.

No. I want to read the original text (as image) and use the OCR only for
searching words or coping passages. But I can export either an image
(pdf) or a word as text. But I need the combination of both at the same
place.

Then I think you will need to do a whole bunch of work with the Adobe
Acrobat software.

sounds pretty confusing
but you are likely in need of
a simple answer.

basically, save your mdi as a tif file.

then open/import that tif file in acrobat
and save it as pdf.

everything else "aint my problem...!"

I had an other try with readiris (a software distributed with hp
scanners) there you can export OCR-text (over/under) the picture to a
pdf file.

Glad you found a solution, and thank you for posting back with it for
others who may have a similar issue.
