small town newsletter

I do a quarterly town newsletter. Problem with poor quality printout for ads
that come in as pdf's. Been saving as jpegs and inserting as pictures. Tried
downloading Ghostscript converter but page can't be found. Printing,
scanning and inserting is muddy too. Running on Vista. Any new solutions?
Don't have Adobe and shoestring budget. Something of a Luddite and don't
understand 16 or 32 bits
Thanks! Carol

Have you tried the *Snipping Tool* in Accessories? It is better than the Print
Screen. You maybe able to get a better resolution ad from the PDF.
You could also try *Insert, Object, Adobe Acrobat Document.*

Ghostscript is where it always is:
http://www.ghostscript.com/ The download page can be found.

Carol -

You might consider a screen capture program to convert all or part of
the pdf to a jpg (picture) file. The one I use is called TNT Capture,
and it's free.

I just tried this; the download pages are accessible, but the file
downloads themselves seem to be unavailable (as does the entire of
wisc.edu's mirror server).
