I am a volunteer editor of a national newsletter. I receive input from
people around the country via email. Twice, I have received ads or pictures
that were laid out by the originators and sent to me as a PDF file. I have
Adobe Reader on my system, but NOT Adobe Acrobat. When I try to copy and
paste the PDF file into a page within my Publisher 2003 newsletter, the file
crashes--I get the "send error report to Microsoft" bit, document closes and
when I re-open--it reopens as a recovery file and the PDF file that crashed
it is gone. To get around it, I had to have the originators convert their
files to jpg or TIF files and re-send (my system wouldn't let me convert them
on my end--possibly because I don't have the full Adobe Acrobat software????)
Anyhow, has anyone else experienced this and is there a fix? I'm surprised
this happens, because I'm not trying to edit the PDF file--I know that I
can't do that--I'm just trying to paste it in. Thanks. S
