I'm currently having the 97-2002 personal file format and would like to
convert it to 2003 format. I've upgraded to Outlook 2003.

You cannot convert it; Create a new Outlook 2003 pst-file and move the
folders by hand to the new pst-file.

I am new. Just signed up and the message is old. I hope you are still there.
I am having the same problem that I cannot convert into Outlook 2003 format
..pst file. Could you explain how I can move the folders by hand to the new
pst-file?

Google is your friend.

With both PSTs (i.e., the old format and the new format), for a folder that
exists in the old one and not in the new one, right-click the folder and
choose Copy. When prompted for the destination, select the new PST. Click
OK.

For a folder that exists in both PSTs, open the old folder. Change your
View to By Category and select all entries with CTRL-A. Then right-click
any selected entry and choose Copy. When prompted for the destination,
click the plus sign next to the new PST name, select the proper folder in
the new PST, and click OK.
