Convert project 2010 files to 2007

Someone sent me a MSP 2010 project file.When I try to open in it in MSP 2007,
I get a pop-up that says I need a patch. I get it automatically from the
website but when I try to load it - it fails because "does not find expected
version. The patch on the MS website is for 2003 to read 2007 files - where
is the patch for 2007 to read 2010???????

I did a quick search on Microsoft's site and can't find an update for
Project 2007 that will read the as-yet-not-released Project 2010 files.
I suspect it not there. Even if is there somewhere but can't be
found, perhaps the easiest approach is ask your colleague who is using
Project 2010 to save as Project 2007 for you.

For Project 2007 files, Project 2003 SP3 provided the converter. You can't
expect a release of a converter until after project 2010 is released in case
last minute bug fixing requires a change in file format.

I expect project 2007 SP3 is the likely source of a converter.

Return the file to the sender. Have them open in in P2010 and then use
File/Save As... when saving, change the file type to Project 2000-2003.
Then have them send the revised version back to you.

If they are not available, go to my blog and dig out my email address and I
can do it for you.
