convert to older quicktime - not working! openoffice.org seems better!

I used the advice on how to convert my Quicktime to older Quicktime, but I still cannot import it into my Powerpoint 2003. I get an error message saying that my MCI device cannot play the specific file. Is there any other way to work around this

I've been using "Impress" by openoffice.org which is similar to powerpoint, only that it's free! "Impress" allows you to import almost any video file. The only limitation is that you are unable to view it full screen. I figured PowerPoint would at least have the capabilities of free software. Guess not. What did I pay for then?
