Can I convert a Quicktime sound to open in PowerPoint?

I have 2 sound clips that I want to use in a Powerpoint Presentation and they
open with Quicktime on my laptop. However, I can't get them to open in
PowerPoint. How do I do this? I keep geting a message that says the files
cannot be identified but they play fine from the desk top icons.
