Convert WP 6.x Macro to Word 03 or 07

Hello Everyone,

What's the fastest way to convert nearly 1000 macros and templates from
WordPerfect 6.x to Word (2003 or 2007)? I've done some research and realize
the two programs use two different macro authoring methods, but surely
there's a batch conversion utility out there, right?

Thanks in advance!

Don't do it! Word 2007 is buggy, inconsistent, VERY poorly designed,
CONFUSING. I've been using Word consistently since version2.0, and after
spending 12 hours trying to do about 2 hours work, I've had it. I'm erasing
the program and switching for the time being to OPEN OFFICE. It's free, it
works. It doesn't have the "functionality" that Word ought to, but then
neither does Word.

Here's one example of dozens and dozens: say you want to change the font
size, so you highlight a word and press the right mouse button. The pop-up
screen covers much of the text you are considering changing. Here's another:
I just spend 4 hours on 3 pages. Every time I got to page 3, the formatting
on page 1 changed. I put in section breaks and tried again. Same result. I
have no idea what's happening. These pages had frames and were produced by
scanning and OCR with Omnipage. I tried the same exact revisions with Open
Office and it worked perfectly.

Here's a third: the Help menu says that you can close each of the view
screens (Outline View, Regular View, etc.) by hitting ESC. Want to bet?

Yes, it's better at some things than Word 6.0. Hooray for that. But the
user interface is excruciating. I've been around computers for decades and
this is just agonizing. Look for some other program!

To be certain that I'm not just some old curmudgeon, check out what other
people are saying. Not sure precisely where to direct you, but amoung
power-users, I've found a rising cry of pain.

And regarding your precise question: you've got to re-program them. Sorry.
I know of no batch program to get you to 2007 macros.

Good luck!

I'm sorry you feel that way. I actually find Word 2007 an incredibly
user-friendly program and have been very happy with it. In fact, I consider
myself to be one of the "power-users."
