Converter won't install

While trying to pull up a non-Word document in Word, I
get a message saying it needs to install a converter. I
put the CD in, it seems to install but then I still can't
pull the document up. I've tried installing converters
through Add/Remove Programs too. Took the document to
another machine, got the same message, installed the
converter, it works just fine. So it's just this one
machine. ????

I had the same problem on a a machine and I am the
Administrator of the machine as I installed the software
orginally.
