If you have a full version of Works 6.0, 7.0, or 8.0, Works Suite 2000,
2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, or 2005, or Office XP installed on your
computer, then you can purchase an upgrade version of Office 2003 from
your favorite retailer. This is a better option than converting your
trial version because you get an Office installation CD in the retail
box.

i had the trial version of microsoft office on my windows xp computer when i
bought it in november. I decided to download the product key in order to
continue using it (without hassle). So...following the instructions I
purchased the key, entered the code which was sent by email and everything is
up and running. However, I also received the CD rom in the post just today.
Do I keep that just as a back up?

Yes, definitely keep the CD in a safe place. Also keep the purchased
product key with the CD. You might need one or both someday to install
Office updates or to repair or reinstall Office.
