Converting Ancient PPT format slides

I have some ancient Powerpoint presentations that I made in 1993 on a long
lost Mac. Neither Powerpoint 98 (Mac) nor Powerpoint 2000 (PC) can open
them.

Any suggestions on how I could open these files would be gratefully
received.

I had to solve this a few years ago.

There is a plug-in MS created for PPT 98 that allows the up-conversion
of old PPT files. Once the file is up-converted into a proper 98 file,
it can then be opened in v.X or 2004 and will work properly.

I'll look around in my files and links for the procedure and post that.
Will include a URL to the file download (assuming it still exists).
You'll need to find Office 98 or somebody who has it.
