Converting Bin to Hex

I type in this formula, and everything's great. But when I edit it,
something goes wrong and it no longer reads as a formula. Has anyone else
experienced this?

=BIN2HEX( CONCATENATE( K12,K13,K14,K15,K16,K17),2)

maybe the cell is formated as 'Text'. Change this format to 'General'
