Converting .doc graphic or clip art files to bitmap, .jpg, .gif, .

I need to send a graphic from MS Word to someone via e-mail. However, the
size of the file is too large (27 MB) to send through my e-mail program. Is
there a way to convert such a file to another document format, e.g. bitmap,
..gif, .tif,. or some other format that would take less space and still keep
the graphic in good shape?

One of my doc design group members recently posted the info below
regarding a similar question. I haven't tried it...but I personal
trust her judgement. Give it a shot.

An incredible graphics compression tool (up to 1/10th the size of Word
2003's compression-ability) is www.irfanview.com free download, free
install, free use shareware ($10 donation suggested for corporate
users).

I do a batch resize with 80% the original, resize to 600x800 (photo
graphics) and you can select file types from a folder tree, and it
puts all the results in a folder of your choosing OR will overwrite
your bulky graphics with compressed forms. It's simple and fast, with
fabulous, efficient, predictable results. It is the preferred tool
used by pragmatic developers in the large software
development company in Washington State.
