converting excel '03 to access

alex

Hello experts,

I'm attempting to convert excel data to an access database. I cannot
find the access add-in link that is available in previous versions of
excel, nor does it appear available from Microsoft's web site. Any
thoughts on the best way to covert without an add-in?

I have not heard of an access add-in in excel, so I'm not quite sure what
you mean.

To get data from excel into access, you can either use import or link
tables. (both cases, right-click in the area where all tables are listed).
In both cases, you can choose the file type excel (or even .txt or
whatever).

I often prefer to link tables, and use an insert-query to get the desired
bits into my table of destination because it's easier to make changes in the
data (e.g. in formatting or selecting some of the columns).
