Converting Excel (XLS) that was sent as PDF to Excel (XLS)

A document that was originally an Excel spreadsheet was converted to PDF and
sent to me. How can I save this document as an Excel (XLS)?

Have you tried copy followed by Data | Text to Column?
This may require the full Acrobat not just the Reader (cannot recall)
Of course, everything will be values (no formulas)
