Converting from Planview

A major project is considering switching from using
Planview to Project 2002. They have concerns over change
tracking, stability, reliability, record locking,
scalability, resource loading and concurrent users. While
I am an expert in non-resource loaded standard MS Project
2002, my knowledge of server 2002 is limited.

Does anyone have any experience in converting on-going
programs from mainframe based project management software
to Project 2002?
I know that in the standard version, the task creation
date field is unreliable when whole tasks are copied
instead of selected fields. Does the server version have
any means of tracking who changed what when?
