converting links to footnotes

S

Scott

Is there a relatively simple way to convert embedded URLs into
footnotes? That is, if a page is imported (e.g., downloaded via "Open
Web Page") and it contains clickable URLs visible only when you hover
over the text containing them, to remove those links and put them into
footnotes.

I'm thinking footnotes because, rather than putting the links in-line,
footnotes will preserve both readability and those links.

Hi Scott:

No, there is no way to do this simpler than using Insert>Footnote and then
pasting the link in.

I prefer to leave the hyperlinks inline in a modern document. I think the
readers are used to them by now :)

However, you can edit the "display text" that shows over the top of the
hyperlink. So if you have a long, ugly hyperlink, you can type a
human-readable name over the top of it and the kink will remain clickable.

Hope this helps
