Converting low level entries to a higher category

I need to convert several detailed entries to higher
levels. I need to translate SIC codes (i.e. all SICs for
credit unions, national banks, state banks, mortgage
loans, etc. to convert to a category of "Financial").
Same with automotive, healthcare, etc.

Do I need a lookup function to do this, a Macro, or both?
Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Hi Joan,

It really depends on how your worksheet is setup and how often you need to
convert the information. For Vlookup and other lookups a good place to start
