converting text to formula

Can anyone tell me how to take a text string and
automatically make it the formula? I am using a DDE link
to a stock trading package. The syntax is very complex.
I could construct a cell with the correct text string in
it, but i don't know how to take that text string and put
it into another cell as that cell's formula. Anyone have
any ideas?
