Cookies?

I have the book FP2003 inside out. I thought there was
some information on cookies, setting them, and how to use
them.

Can anyone tell me if I'm crazy for thinking its in there
somewhere, and if its not, where I can find info on how
to take advantage of them?

Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve:
According to the index, that information is on the Companion CD - A180
(Appendix N) and IE115 (Insider Extra 14).

Both reference just have the word cookie in the line
somewhere, if you search the 2 PDF files that are refered
to in Appendix N and IE115.

Cookies fall into that grey area of being both good and bad at the same
time. They have uses that help your visitors, but they can also be used for
less than ethical purposes by some. A good example of how cookies help is a
shopping cart system. You can use cookies to store data from one page to the
next, keeping the customer's information ready for when they checkout. This
is just one example and is by no means the only way to do it or the only
useful purpose for cookies.
If you did not install any cookies on your site, there is no reason you
should have to remove any. It's possible if you have banners with links to
other sites for the banners to be calling a cookie when your page opens. IE
5.5 and higher automatically blocks these cookies unless you enable them and
there is no way to remove those without removing the external links on your
page. As for how to use cookies, do a search for them
