copied and pasted screen print

I copied and pasted a screen print of a web page and a
portion of another web page, into a word document. I
further added some text to explain what was there. I sent
it to someone who, opened it and the copied and pasted
portions were all in code. The text was fine. I had him
copy and paste the same web page and send it to me in a
word document and it opened just fine.
Any suggestions or maybe what I did wrong.
thanks

Chances are that if you pasted a web image into a document you actually
pasted a link and what your correspondent was seeing was the link eg
{INCLUDEPICTURE "http://www.website.com/images/products/covers/filename.jpg"
\* MERGEFORMATINET} (not a genuine link)

(ALT+F9) to display the content - then, if necessary, update (F9) to re-grab
the image from the web page

Either save the image from the web site and insert it into the document as a
picture or paste special as a device independent bitmap to ensure that the
image is actually in the document.

Or Ctrl+Shift+F9 while the picture is being displayed. This will unlink it
and embed it in the doc.

Have the person you sent it too check their Tools/Option
View dialog box for things like the show fields etc.
Could be they have something selected in that dialog box
that you do not. If this is not the case ensure they are
viewing it in the same view as you for example print
layout vs. outline.
