copy an existing database and putting it into the server

In the MS Project Server 2003 Installation Guide, I could only find
information on how to create a new database.

How does one create a copy of the existing database (windows
authentication) into the server?

Thanks!

From your question, it sounds like you are trying to create a second
instance of Project Server using the backup of your original Project Server
database. Is this correct? If so, you will need to download and install
the EditSite 2003 software from Microsoft at the following link:

You can use this software to create additional instances of Project Server,
such as for hosting pre-implementation training classes or as a "sandbox"
instance for testing your system. Hope this helps.

Dale,

Thanks for taking the time to answer and and always providing valuable
insights to this group.

Yes, I am trying to create a sandbox out of the original database.
I came across this post that laid out the steps:

http://groups.google.ca/groups?q="[email protected]&rnum=27

The first step for me is to back up the databases.
Based on MS Project Server Disaster Recovery Guide, I should back up
multiple databaes (because I am using Windows SharePoint Services).
They laid out the procedure but not the steps to accomplish the tasks.

I dont' know much about computers, would you care to share your
expertise on how to back up a database in details!?

thanks. =)
