Copy and Paste with Highlighted Text

Hi,
I have a problem with the copy and paste function in Word 2002. When I copy
a word, highlight another word, and then I paste, normally, the word I
highlighted would go away and replaced with the word I pasted.
Now, there is something wrong with my Word 2002. After I paste, the pasted
word is inserted before the highlighted word and the highlighted word does
not go away. I try the copy-and-paste function in other programs (e.g.,
Notepad, MSN) and there is no problem, the problem only exists in Word 2002.
I also check it is not the problem with the "insert" button. Please help.
Thank

In Word, click on Tools | Options | Edit tab | check the "Typing
replaces selection" box | OK.

Problem solved. Thank you very much ^^.
(Although I really don't know why it suddenly changed the setting :)

The "it" that changed the setting was likely a third-party add-in. If
you find the option has been enabled again then post back and we'll
help you track the add-in down.

Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Requests for
assistance by email can not be acknowledged.
