Copy data file to laptop

I just upgraded my desktop PC from Office 2003 to Office 2007 Pro.
Everythings worked fine. Then, I installed BCM for Outlook 2007. Everything
works fine. Next, I integrated Office Accounting Pro 2007 trial version with
BCM. So far, so good. Here's my big question -- How do I copy my Outlook data
file so I can use it on my laptop while I am traveling starting Thursday?

I assume that I will have to upgrade my laptop to Office 2007 Pro from the
current 2003 version. However, I do NOT want to go through all the indexing
that Outlook did on my desktop PC (my OL data file is very large). This took
over 24 hours for Outlook to finish. Can I just delete the OLD .pst file that
is on my laptop BEFORE I install the upgrade? Should I wait to install the
upgrade until I have copied my current Outlook data file to the laptop?

With Outlook 2003, I just copied my .pst file from my desktop PC to a CD or
USB drive, then copied it from there onto my laptop in the same location
where it was on my desktop PC. Then I could travel and keep all contact,
calendar, and email information up to date, plus sync with my Treo. From what
I have read about OL 2007, I should be able to do the same, except that I
don't seem to have a .pst file on my desktop PC. Did installing BCM change
the type of data file that Outlook uses?

Thanks in advance for helping me on this!

Okay, I finally found my .pst file (whew!). That solves my biggest question.

Now, I still need to know the best way to upgrade my laptop to Outlook 2007
without causing it to index the old .pst file that is on it right now.

Also, is it possible to install BCM on the laptop? I think it would be
useful BUT the server that shares the BCM database with OA07 is installed
locally on my desktop PC.

Thanks!

BCM 2007 has a ability to take your data offline. If you desktop and laptop
are connected on LAN, you can install BCM on laptop, connect to BCM database
created on desktop and set the Offline setting on laptop. This allows you to
sync your BCM datab from desktop to laptop. You can work on your laptop data
while away from Desktop. When you connect back to your LAN, BCM will
automtiacally connect to Desktop data and sync the changes. The "Offline"
feature is specially designed for desktop/laptop mobile scenarios.
