Objective
I wish to use the same PST on two computers, my work notebook and home
desktop. Often I need to tackle some email in the evening, and just don't
feel like booting up the notebook.
Solution
I moved the PST (yes, we use Exchange at the office, but all of my email is
delivered to one PST, which is ~270MB) to a 1GB CompactFlash card, and
repointed Outlook on each computer to the new file location.
Challenge
The emails, appointments, tasks, etc. are easily accessible. My email
account settings, however, are not contained in the PST. I really don't want
to retype POP and SMTP settings for 20 accounts. Are the account settings
stored in a separate file? Any way to export/import them?
Environment
Notebook runs Outlook 2003, whereas the desktop has Outlook 2002. From what
I understand I either need to save the Outlook 2003 PST in Outlook 97-2002
format, or upgrade Outlook on the desktop to 2003. Is this accurate? Any
gotchas of which I should be aware?
Many thanks in advance for your help.
