Copy format/dimensions shape

Hi,

when I either duplicate/copy a shap like a simple block,
dimensions of this block are not copied.
Even when I afterwards try to use the format painter, the
shape of the block does not change:

1) how can i copy/duplicate keeping format/dimensions
2) is there any way to set up the format painter so it
changes/adapts/copies the block as the selected block
